Tis the season to be spamming.

The standout for new spam content this month are the mini-rc car ads. Raise your hand if you're getting flooded by these.

One of the capital companies backing XM is putting out a nice promotion this Christmas, so I just got a Delphi SkyFi XM unit for half price. Any radio service that has a channel for unsigned artists gets my vote.

In other music news, I got too many new cds from amazon last night. When this happens, I tend to fall into the habit of not paying enough attention to songs on the first run through. I made it about two songs into the first CD (Sigur Ros) before I ejected it and went on to the next CD (Nick Drake - Pink Moon). Same story there. Not that I didn't like the music, I just get anxious that I have to make it through all of them.

By the time I made it on to the third CD, however, I slowed down. With good reason. It was Gillian Welch's latest CD, "Time (The Revelator)". Oh my, did I stay up to late listening to that. Guess who's buying all her solo recordings now.

I must be folkyfied-countryfied-acoustified now. It just dawned on me, I haven't listened to CD featuring distorted electric guitar in over 3 months.

OK, this is Southern California, so, we don't like the cold. No comparisons to Green Bay, please.

Right now it feels like it's about 50 degrees. Weather channel says 52. We aren't running the heater. It's cold, cold, cold.

What I've noticed is this temperature makes it very difficult to get motivated to practice any instruments. I don't think I've played since Sunday, and now I want to practice, but, my fingers are barely capable of typing. I'm sure I'd start to play, get frusterated, and stop within five minutes.

Maybe it's time to check out the central heating.

I'm the guy Amazon implemented the "combine order" feature for.

I have about a 1 in 2 track record with orders there of going back, ordering more, and doing so quickly to get it in with an order already in process.

And mind you, when I do that, I usually do it about 3-4 times over.

Remember Christmas shopping before the Internet? Man, I was toast. Nothing like leaving mom's gift till a few days prior, and then realizing, yes, now I have to go to William Sonoma at South Coast Plaza the week of Christmas. Mmmm...the joys of an agoraphobe.
