Wow, made it to the grocery store. Of course, I barely bought anything because I'm going out of town this weekend.

Today was a non-eventful day. I packed for a trip. Almost got XM radio installed in my car, but held back. I'm such an impulsive person, it's good to wait I think. Watched the documentary Amercian Movie which I got from netflix. Ozzy is no longer my posterboy as evidence why drugs are bad. This guy in the movie, Mike, now is. I've never seen somebody so fried in my entire life. What made it especially sad is that he didn't come off like some angry and violent guy who might show up getting arrested on Cops, but more like a 4 year old. No joke. Glad I never did acid...or anything close. The movie is rather interesting, strangely at that. It's not even worth my describing, because it will sound totally lame, but it somehow escapes that. Just read up at imdb, I guess.

I don't remember the last time I went to the grocery store. I'm getting awfully creative with meals, perhaps I should just go! Tonight it was pasta with a oil and herb dressing, it doesn't get much more back of the panty than that. OK, maybe ramen is worse.

Today, I spent a fair amount of time trying to write my own lightweight blog software. I started in in php. I'm thinking I should move to perl, I'm really worried about some cross scripting issues I might have with php. I haven't coded anything even semi-complicated in months, so it's really rough going to start. I think I should just scrap what I have...such indecisiveness. Oh, part of the nastiness comes from the fact that I'm trying to write it to use the filesystem rather than MySQL, to save money on shared hosting. We'll see...

Just a heads up, if you're one of the, uh, two people reading this, I added a bloglet to play with. If you subsribe, it sends you the first 128 characters of any new entry I put up. Nice to see xml-rpc getting used for something decent.

I almost forgot to tell the most exciting story of my weekend. I had hoped to play in Pomona Sunday, but had a little foot problem. I managed to rake two toes on my right foot pretty bad Saturday, it was greater physical pain than I've had in I don't know, probably two years. I thought both nails were going to fall off or turn purple, both were totally filled with blood underneath initially. Gross. Still limping a bit, hopefully the nails will stay attached. Fun fun.

What's wrong with popular american cinema? How about "Scooby Doo" making over $56 million it's opening weekend. Mind you, this film violates one of the rules of good cinema by featuring Freddy Prinze Jr. in it. It's no wonder I rarely make it to the theater.
